"There is no such thing as a vote that doesn't matter."
—Barack Obama
Do you need assistance registering to vote or have questions about voting in North Carolina?
How to register to vote from home
-
Download and fill out the NC Voter Registration Application (clicking this link will leave this page).
-
Mail the form to your local Board of Elections office (the address can be found on the last page of the voter registration application).
-
If the application is complete and you meet all qualifications to vote, the county board of elections will mail you a voter registration card. This mailing is non-forwardable and serves to verify your address. If the U.S. Postal Service returns a card as undeliverable, a second mailing will be sent. If the second mailing is returned as undeliverable, the voter registration will be denied. If you do not receive your voter registration card, let us know in the form above.
